How to root Bluestacks 1 & 2 (0.10.x / 2.x.x) (EASY ROOT)

I have found out that Bluestacks have secret root exploit (we can call The semi-root) which grant you full root access to everything without Kingroot and SuperSU. You can mount /data and /system in Read-Write mode using any file explorer which supports root. since the 0.9.0, the root exploit was found by me, which you can mount the /data partition, but the / and /system partition was in Read-only mode, and Kingroot wasn't able to root Bluestacks, since that release.

Without Superuser, some root apps will not work, and thinking that your device is unrooted.

Forget all about BS-Multi-Tool, and the modded offline installer which have crappy Galaxy S4 settings app, and bloatwares that you don't like. Rooting the clean Bluestacks v1 and v2 takes 1 minute. Kingroot takes 5 seconds to root like a rocket. No need any PC softwares needed to install. No need modded offline installer.

If you don't like Kingroot, simply don't root to keep semi-root, or switch to SuperSU

DO NOT TRY TO ROOT WITH SUPERSU APP. YOU WILL LOSE THE ROOT, INCLUDING LOSS OF SEMI-ROOT EXPLOIT. LET ME TEST ON BLUESTACKS 2 FIRST

LETS ROOT THE BLUESTACKS!

1. Start the Bluestacks

2. Download Kingroot app for Android from http://www.kingroot.net/?myLocale=en_US

(NOTE: Some browsers blocks Kingroot from downloading. add it to the whitelist)

3. Double-click on the APK file to install the app into the Bluestacks

4. You see the Kingroot app in the app drawer, open it.

5. Ok, there is a rotation bug, and the developer already removed the settings to force portait rotating. If you already have enabled it on Bluestacks 1 before upgrade to Bluestacks 2 without uninstall, the rotation will still work. PTap on the "Root status failed" to start rooting

6. Rooting only takes 5 SECONDS! After rooting, you will see this

7. That's it. Bluestacks is now rooted.

IMPORTANT. Do not open any app which asks you to restart the device. Pressing restart will UNROOT Bluestacks and the good hidden semi-root exploit will be GONE FOREVER until you reinstall Bluestacks.

8. Test root access on any apps to see if it works

9. Close the Bluestacks, and reboot your computer to take effect.
